Klosterneuburg International School is a member of the Association of Central European IB Schools (ACES). In this capacity KIS hosted a workshop and leadership conference at our school in fall 2018. We welcomed representatives from 33 schools in Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. On Thursday evening a pre-conference treat was organised: The participants met at Heuriger Obermann in Grinzing to enjoy good wine, food and shop talk. On the next day, the US-based, renowned educator, presenter, consultant and author Tim Burns joined us as our guest speaker and worked with the participants in the plenary and breakout sessions. After Tim’s inspiring presentation and workshop on »Mindful Activity in a Digitally Distracted World« the participants split up in groups to discuss pedagogical development, problems and obstacles schools have to overcome when delivering the IB programme. In the evening the opening ceremony of the IB Global Conference Vienna completed an informative, entertaining and educational day at KIS.
