Admission IB Diploma Programme

The legal pre-requisite for all pupils applying to our school is officially documented residence in Klosterneuburg with at least one legal guardian

Requirements for admission to Year 5 and 6 of the Bilingual Programme in preparation for the IB Programme and to the IBDP in Year 7

In order to sit the IB Diploma examination at age 18, pupils must first complete the two-year IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), and ideally our two-year pre-IB Programme in Years 5 and 6 (14-16 year old).

Evidence of strong academic achievement, in addition to fluency in English, are key requirements for a pupil wishing to join the pre-IB Years or the IBDP itself.
Places in the IB Diploma Programme at BG Klosterneuburg are allocated according to availability and academic record.

Step 1

Fill in and submit the applicant’s details in the Online Application Form.

Step 2

Submit the online application form together with an introductory mail to the IB Office (iboffice@bgklosterneuburg.at). Please don't forget to attach the two most recent reports, as requested. Applicants are tested in English and Mathematics.

A fee of € 80 is charged for these assessments.

Step 3

You will be informed about the assessment results per mail. In case of acceptance, please continue with the general enrolment procedure:
The applicant’s legal guardian must submit a general registration form and show the following documents in person to the school secretary:
Required Documents in English or German:
• Printed and signed online registration form
• Most recent half term school report (Semesterzeugnis) (original and copy)
• Social security number of your child
• Certificate of residency of your child (Meldezettel) (original and copy)
• Passport (original and copy)
• Birth certificate (Geburtsurkunde) (original and copy)
• Certificate of baptism (Taufschein) if applicable (original and copy)
• Guardianship decree (Vormundschaftsdekret) for single parents if applicable (original and copy)

Additional information

Students joining the IB class later than Year 5 (14-15 year olds) and having completed their compulsory education, may be registered as “IB only students”, graduating with the IBDP exam only. These students will study their 6 IBDP subjects plus a range of mandatory extra subjects (e.g.: Sports) during Years 7 and 8 while they will do the full curriculum in Year 6.
