IB Kick-off Event 7B

Hey guys!

How has your first week of school been?
I had a great experience on Wednesday! As I am part of the IB Diploma Programme, I was allowed to attend the Kick-off Event that our kind IB coordinator and teachers held for us at Quartier 1114, courtesy of our sponsor Stift Klosterneuburg.

I really liked how we started off the event! At first I thought it was going to be very strict and boring, but I was proven wrong in the first few minutes.
The teachers made us learn about the most important abbrevations of the IB with a bingo game, which involved talking to our classmates for the solutions. Throughout the first part we continued to learn more about the IB and what we have to do.
One of the highlights was definitely the first break with free snacks and coffee, provided by Stift Klosterneuburg.
After the break we had a presentation by the Red Cross to give us some idea for S (service) the part of CAS, which is a requirement of the IB to help us grow as a person.
The second highlight was the free lunch at the Stift Restaurant "Leopold". I mean who would say no to that? It was a very delicious Schnitzel!
Immediately after lunch there was another highlight! We had to connect baby photos to our teachers, which was very fun and cute!
What was left, was to talk about restrictions, like the use of AI and deadlines.
We also got to go home a little bit earlier than our usual schedule would have allowed us to, which made this day even better than it already was!

Overall it was a fun but still informative day and we thank the Stift Klosterneuburg much to have given us the opportunity to hold this event in one of their big conference rooms and the free food!

Yours,

Luca-Leon Kammerer, on behalf of the entire class of 7B
